IMLCA National Cup is Set for Year Two

The IMLCA National Cup will be played June 15-17 at Lebanon Valley College

Elkridge, MD (April 24, 2018) — Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE) and the Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) announced today that the 2018 IMCLA National Cup presented by adidas will take place on June 15-17 at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa. This is the second time that CSE and the IMLCA have partnered to operate this boys championship tournament featuring top club programs in the high school graduating years of 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. The 2018 event is sold out with 72 teams coming from 14 different states.

The event gets underway on Friday, June 15 with the IMLCA Select Showcase presented by adidas. The Select Showcase provides evaluation opportunities for as many as 320 uncommitted players from each club program in the 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 graduation classes. Participating players receive custom apparel and accessories from adidas. IMLCA member coaches are assigned to each Showcase team and work directly with the athletes.

The adidas IMLCA All-Star Game wraps up the action on Friday evening. Fifty of the tournament’s top rising seniors (2019 graduation year) will take the field with each player receiving an exclusive All-Star gear package that includes the latest adidas footwear, apparel and lacrosse equipment. The high-octane contest will be broadcast live online by CSE-TV as will selected championship games on Sunday, June 17. All live stream games from the event will be available for viewing on www.IMLCANationalCup.com.

“At adidas, we seek to inspire through our products, our style, and in communities and the 2018 IMCLA National Cup provides a unique stage to authentically connect with lacrosse athletes and fans,” said Dan Near, Sr. Director of Lacrosse for adidas. “Our mission is to help athletes perform better and we’ll bring our most newest and most innovative high-performance products to this showcase for lacrosse.”

In partnership with the IMLCA, the IMLCA National Cup is more than just a high school tournament. It is an opportunity for high school players to show off their skills and learn from many of the best coaches in lacrosse.

“The IMLCA National Cup offers much more than the typical recruiting tournament,” commented J. B. Clarke President of the IMLCA and head coach at Limestone College. “The event incorporates opportunities for college coaches to be part of instructional clinics and lead recruiting seminars. In addition to this, the IMLCA Board of Directors will be meeting on site and planning professional development activities specifically for all our attending members. We are confident that the IMLCA National Cup has the potential to become the premier event on the summer recruiting circuit in the upcoming years.”

The 2017 IMLCA National Cup hosted more than 115 college coaches with top coaches leading clinics and recruiting seminars.  Charley Toomey (Loyola) and Paul Cantabene (Stevenson) led instructional clinics in their respected areas of goalie and face-off play. Recruiting Q & A Sessions allowed players, parents and club coaches opportunities to interact with prominent college coaches including: Bill Tierney (Denver), Nick Myers (Ohio State), Jeff Tambroni (Penn State) and Brian Voelker (Drexel). The 2018 event will again provide unique opportunities for IMLCA member coaches from the Division I, II and III ranks to engage and educate aspiring lacrosse players and their families.

Lee Corrigan, President of CSE, said, “The event just gets better and better. The commitment from adidas elevates this event in the minds of coaches and players.  The gear provided to our All-Star Game participants and uncommitted game players is outstanding.  The All-Star Game, Showcase and clinics give the players added opportunities to show their skills to sidelines filled with college coaches.”
